Yogyakarta, known as Jogja, as the center of javanese art and culture, has various kinds of fascinating tourism attractions. This is the reason why people prefer to go to jogja than the other cities because jogja is the cradle of javanese culture. Jogja, the old elegant city similar to Solo, is one of two central traditional palaces of javanese culture that still remain.

Kraton Museum

The royal palace has a Museum which is placed on the Kraton Jogja territory, well knwon as Kraton Jogja Museum. It keeps several items of Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono heritage, including their photographic equipments. On the west side of Kraton, on Rotowijayan sreet, there is a royal carriage Museum that is built on 14.000 m2 land with Javanese architecture. It has the collection of all Kinds of palace carriages including Kyai Garuda Yeksa, Kyai Jaladra and Kyai Kanjeng Jimat.

SONOBUDOYO MUSEUM

Situated on the north of the North Square (Alun-alun Utara) of sultan palace, the collection of cultural artifacts in sonobudoyo is the second most complete after the centarl Museum in jakarta. Visitors can observe ceramics from neolithic era, original statues from 8 and 9 century and also bronze articles collected from Temples in central Java, various Kinds of puppets, mask and wayang (puppet shadow) to heirlooms and artifacts from Bali.

SEWU TEMPLE
Sewu Temple is located about hundreds meters to the east of prambanan Temple and has small Temples such as Lumbung Asu, Bubrah and Lor Kulon Temple.

Gebang Temple

Gebang Temple is a hindust inheritance from the 7 century. Built by King of wanca sanjaya, the Temple has some special quality that others don’t have. Such as the form af a phallus that consists of a lotus flower, ganeca statue on the Yoni anvil inside the back chamber and the main chamber is commonly settled by aglorified god and consist of one phallus. Other specialities are there is no stairs (usually made from stone) that connect the Templebase with the main chamber so its hard to reach the chamber. Gebang Temple is located in Condongcatur, southern side of giwangan village, ngemplak, Sleman, about 11 km from downtown of Jogja.



BANYU NIBO TEMPLE

Banyu Nibo means dropping water. It is a Buddhist inheritance from 9 century. Because it is located far from other Buddhist Temple in aremote area in the middle of rice field, people then called it as the Temple of “Sebatang Kara” (lonely) Banyu Nibo.
