Yogyakarta, known as Jogja, as the center of javanese art and culture, has various kinds of fascinating tourism attractions. This is the reason why people prefer to go to jogja than the other cities because jogja is the cradle of javanese culture. Jogja, the old elegant city similar to Solo, is one of two central traditional palaces of javanese culture that still remain.
Beautiful environments, traditional architecture, social customs and ritual ceremonies make jogja as the most interesting place to visit. Traditional arts, such as gamelan orchestra and traditional dance will always remind to audiences to the atmosphere of jogja in centuries ago. This province also acknowledge as interesting place for researchers, geologist, and vulcanologist due to the cave in the limestone areas and of its active volcano. Yogyakarta, is awarded as a special province status due to its role in the time of Indonesian struggle.

Bullock Cart
One of traditional ways to carry a cardo in Jogja is by Bullcok Carts. It usually can be found in villages to carry farm harvest products

Andong
This Four wheels carriage is pulled by one or two horses. The andong driver is called as “kusir”. Tourist should not miss an opportunity to ride andong while they staying in Jogja. Andong can be found easily at railway and bus stations and also in some major markets.

Becak
Becak is a tricycle traditional transportation. With two passenger seats at the front, becak is used to carry people or things in enormous amount. It is not difficult to find becak, it can be found almost in every corner of the Street in Jogja.

Bicycle
Jogja is popular as a “bicycle city” because there is great numbers of students who use bicycle as their transportation. There are bikes for rent at many places in the city (such as Sosorwijayan, Pasar Kembang, and Prawirotaman) for those who are interested in exploring the city in a different and healthy way.

Bus
City buses and minibuses are cheaper and they run over the city all day long. Air conditioner (AC) buses, which destination of all cities in Java, Bali, and Sumatra are available all day. Night buses can be found in Giwangan bus station.

Taxi
Air conditioned taxis with algometry are available on the corner of the city or you can order it from hotels.


TRAVEL (Epress Bus)
These transportation service offices can be found on west side of Tugu railway station or at Dr. Wahidin Steet.

TRAIN
There are express trains every day to solo and many cities all over Java scheduled time.

PLANE
The fastes and easiest way to go on a trip form or to Jogja is by airplane
